Field Superintendent (plumbing, welding/fitting, and sheet metal)

Job Description:
We are looking for experienced Field Superintendents that will lead our HVAC and/or plumbing construction field crews and our subcontractors through effective communication, while operating as a working foreman. Therefore, working with your tools will be required and expected, as needed. The Field Superintendent works in tandem with the Project Manager to oversee the jobsite processes, coordinate manpower, process all required paperwork, verify coordinated drawings, and build the project in accordance with the plans and specifications. The Field Superintendent reports to the Project Manager.

Essential Functions / Major Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a liaison between Project Managers and the field to ensure compliance of construction with drawings and specifications
  • Plan project specific work schedules
  • Collaborate with Project Mangers to manage all subcontractors
  • Collaborate with Project Mangers to coordinate all material and equipment requirements
  • Collaborate with Project Mangers to create and manage change orders and RFIs
  • Manage the proper utilization, maintenance, and condition of all company owned/furnished equipment, power tools and consumables under his/her supervision
  • Participate in annual documented performance review meetings with field crews
  • Ensure full compliance with the H&G Systems Safety Program
  • Provide proactive, clear and timely communication to internal and external team members
  • Collaborate with other field superintendents to plan, organize and schedule project work including preparation of subcontract/contract integrated project schedule
  • Review contract drawings, detail drawings and specifications
  • Regular attendance and promptness are considered part of each employee’s essential job functions.
  • Assist with leading our in-house training program
  • Ability to oversee/manage other trades desired (typically managing subcontractors)

Job Conditions:
Hours are typically around forty hours per week to effectively perform this position (7 AM to 3:30 PM). On occasion, you might need to work more than forty hours in a given week. However, working during the weekends is rare. Leadership and oversight responsibilities require consistent work start times and work weeks. Work on construction sites will typically have more challenging access and terrain.
